If you are happy to proceed, treatment will only commence following a thorough discussion of your medical history with the doctor, completion of a medical history form and a signed consent form.

During: Dermal filler is injected into the skin in small amounts using a very fine needle. The gel provides natural volume to smooth away the appearance of lines and wrinkles, enhance facial shape, or create fuller lips.

Some people may experience mild discomfort, in these cases a local anaesthetic cream can be applied to the area for a more comfortable treatment experience.

The lips are a highly sensitive part of the body and, therefore, at Aurora Skin Clinic we only use dermal filler products with local anaesthetic lidocaine included for a more comfortable treatment experience.

Most side effects are temporary and mild, they include slight redness, swelling, itching, bruising, pain and tenderness. They typically resolve spontaneously within one or two days, but for some treatments they may last longer. Lips may swell for up to a week, but this typically reduces after two to three days.

If:
The proposed area is near another that previously or currently exhibits skin disease, inflammation or skin related problems.
You are pregnant or breast-feeding women
You have a medical conditions that lower the body’s immune response
You are undergoing therapy that is immunosuppressive

You should try to keep the area as still as possible for 24-48 hours. The area can be massaged gently following treatment and we will advise you on specific aftercare at your appointment.
